This is one of the most ancient breeds in the world, it goes back, as a native american breed, more than 3,000 years.
It was in Peru since the times of the pre-columbian cultures of the Vicus and Moche cultures.
It is portrayed in one of the geoglyphs of the "Nazca Lines" in the peruvian coastal desert and in many ceramic artifacts found in the burial sites of pre-inca cultures.
